Description
Suffering from anxiety, depression, heart disease, cancer, diabetes….
Many of our women report experiencing one of many chronic conditions. It often includes numerous professional appointments, a collection of various medications and natural health products with minimal results bringing them to a point of lost hope of ever feeling alive and healthy again. Their own physical situation combined with the impact on their families and community often leaves them even more at a loss and no confidence it can ever be different. Jeannie Barr brings her own story to our gathering this Wednesday night – I hope you will be able to join us!

About Jeannie Barr
“Shaking Hands with Chronic Illness” is community space created by Jeannie Barr, a chronic illness warrior, mother, and storyteller who’s navigated 16 spinal surgeries, multiple cancers, Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia, and numerous other Autoimmune illnesses to name a few. Over the past three decades she has learned to traverse motherhood, family, friendships, career, social responsibilities, all the while living daily with multiple chronic illnesses and immense pain. They brought her to – numerous near-death experiences at the hands of her doctors, a broken marriage, loss of long-time family and friends, shared custody of her child, losing much of her income due to early forced retirement and ultimately her home. Slowly, she built herself back up with tenacity, a strong sense of self, and a clear vision of how her life would look when healed.
