Everyone has either heard of or has done the “Hokey Pokey” in their lifetime. What if that song was really what it’s all about? Could the fact that we only put our right foot in mean that we are unsure of what lies ahead? So we use caution and move slowly so we don’t get hurt. At times we may feel brave and put our left arm in and shake it all about to see if we fall apart or if we can handle a tough situation? What if by taking chances on a new life, a new job, or a new relationship we find that it pushes us to turn ourselves around? Then as we move forward and really listen to what our heart or intuition tells us, we can trust ourselves again and put our whole self in. And at times we may feel hokey when trying new things or re-trying old things, and that’s okay.
Perhaps one simple song can’t make our lives fall into place, but that doesn’t mean it can’t give us hope or a new outlook. So don’t be pokey about taking a chance. Who knows, maybe the Hokey Pokey really is what it’s all about!
