Decision-Making and Divorce

I was checking out of the grocery store yesterday, and the casher asked, ”Do you want paper or plastic?”

Confused, I looked at her blankly, so she asked again, “Do you want me to bag your groceries in paper or plastic?” I couldn’t decide!

I worry that if I can’t make this simple decision, how will I be able to make all the necessary legal and financial decisions during and after my divorce that will keep me protected and safe.

I understand that I will make mistakes. My decisions may not always be the wisest, but I will do the best I can. So, though I am not always good about asking
for help, in this case I made an exception.

I created a team of experts to guide me including not just an attorney, but a financial planner, a banker, an insurance agent, estate planner, and of course a
therapist.

I connected more with close, trusted friends. They might not have the technical backgrounds to help me make specific decisions, but they can support me, hold my hand, make me laugh, and remind me that all will be well.

I connected more with myself. Sometimes I journal. Sometimes I mediate. Sometimes I walk. I find ways to be still and let my intuition guide me.
